Some Bad Bohemian…

A Year in Review – Day 15

Even though in many ways I think Bohemian style was my most successful look, there were some days I just couldn’t get it right.  But isn’t that the way it goes with most things?  I mean, we tell our kids all the time, “Keep trying and you’ll get it right.  Practice makes perfect.”  But we never take this advice ourselves.  As soon as we become adults we suddenly give ourselves no room to fail.  How terribly limiting that is!  The beauty of failure is that the more you fail, the less afraid you become of failure, which means the more times you’ll try something and therefore, the more likely you are to succeed.

Quick!  Somebody put that inspirational and convoluted quote on a coffee mug!

So here for your viewing pleasure, are some of my very inspiring Bohemian failures —

Bohemian_Chic_ShawlPoncho or oversized dinner napkin?  You decide…

Mom_Fashion_Jane_Goodall

What does one wear to meet iconic figure Jane Goodall?  Why something dirt brown, that’s what.  At least Jane looks fabulous…

 Mom_Fashion_Bohemian_Parade

I actually walked in a parade in this outfit.  I repeat — I actually walked in a parade in this outfit…

Bohemian_Mom_Fashion_Skirt

And finally, the overly clingy skirt…  So glad I wore this skirt on a windy day.  And so glad I paired this mustard yellow skirt with my Jane Goodall dirt brown shirt and not-the-same-brown-at-all suede boots.  My favorite thing about this outfit?  I wore it all day without realizing any of this.

Oh well.  That’s how it is when learning about fashion.  Some days you just have to let failure be your co-pilot…
